Provide day-to-day support and assistance to individuals, promoting their independence and well-being.

Role-specific Training: Job descriptions & roles, H2H Learning Management System, communication via Square App, crisis management training, UKERU training, individualized service plan training, behavior support plan & strategies, medication competency training, employee shadowing with experienced staff members, supervision levels, CPR/First Aid.
Person-Centered/Trauma-Informed Care: Individual-specific training, Boggs Positive Behavior Supports.
Professional Development: Ongoing training and certifications in CPR/First Aid, CMT, UKERU, and individual-specific support techniques. Access to resources through standardized program curriculums, the Square App, and Therap. Includes mentorship with a Learning Specialist, as well as training in management, communication, and time management skills. Opportunities for upward mobility are supported through skill-building, coaching, and internal advancement pathways.
Evaluation & Feedback Mechanisms: 90-day evaluations for new employees, quarterly employee check-ins from management to discuss progress, goals, challenges, and opportunities for improvement, and encouragement of open communication.
Continuous Professional Growth: Regular employee training and workshops focused on person-centered support and behavior management techniques. Mentorship and coaching sessions on personal development goals and career advancement with a Learning Specialist. Performance feedback and ongoing policy-specific training.
Delivery Methods: In-person, hands-on workshops and training sessions led by the agency Learning Specialist. E-learning modules developed by the agency’s E-Learning Developer (DSPs can access the modules at their convenience as needed). On-the-job training by pairing new DSPs with experienced staff who can guide and encourage new employees. Webinars to provide statewide Q&A opportunities for DSPs. One-on-one coaching for employees who may struggle in group sessions.
You must be 18 years or older, hold a Non-Probationary Driver’s License and HS diploma (or equivalent), in addition to a clean background check and drug test. Experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred but not mandatory as we provide comprehensive training.
