At Heart to Heart, we believe in the power of fresh starts—and the strength it takes to embrace them. Garrett was just 21 when he moved into our Greenbrier Group Home. A new environment, new routines, new people. It was a lot. And at first, it felt like too much. The adjustment wasn’t easy. There were moments of doubt, frustration, and wondering if he’d ever really feel at home. But Garrett kept showing up—and so did we.
At Greenbrier, he found more than a place to live. He found people who listened, encouraged, and stayed patient through the hard days. Slowly but surely, something began to shift. Garrett began to trust the process, trust the people around him—and most importantly, trust himself.
Today, Garrett is working—a huge milestone he wasn’t sure he’d ever reach. He’s been at his job for over a year now, showing up with focus, pride, and purpose. And he’s not stopping there. He’s currently studying for his driver’s license—something he once thought was out of reach. But that’s the thing about feeling supported: it opens up space to dream a little bigger.
Garrett’s story is still unfolding, but one thing is clear—he’s come a long way. And we’re so proud to walk alongside him as he steps into all that’s ahead. Because at Heart to Heart, we’re not just providing services. We’re building something real—a sense of home, a sense of hope, and the kind of community that believes in what’s possible.
